Are Foot Symptoms Related to a Vein Condition?

Are-Foot-Symptoms-Related-to-a-Vein-Condition

Could your foot-related symptoms be due to a vein condition? They very well could be. Many people suffer from bothersome or painful foot symptoms but are not certain as to what exactly is causing them. This can be an especially difficult struggle for those who need to stand for long periods of time for their jobs or simply for their day-to-day activities. So, if you have been subject to foot-related symptoms, how can you know if it is due to a vein condition, or something else?

Have a listen as I go into more detail on why you may be suffering from foot-related symptoms:

Types of foot-related symptoms connected to a vein condition that we often see with our patients include:

  • Numbness
  • Tingling
  • Burning
  • Stinging
  • Cold feet

However, symptoms are not always limited to the feet. Someone suffering from foot symptoms with a vein condition may also experience aching and throbbing in the calves as well as restless leg syndrome. Additional common symptoms experienced by people with a vein condition that you may also notice include:

The Key Factor: Time of Day

The way we sort out whether vein treatments will help alleviate your foot symptoms is by paying attention to what we call in medicine a "clinical pearl" - in this case, one that most doctors and nurses aren't aware of. The pearl is the time of day when symptoms are at their worst or most noticeable. If your symptoms worsen during the evening, versus during the day -  this is your tell-tale sign that they are occurring because of a vein condition. However, if the symptoms listed above are fairly constant throughout the day, you may instead be suffering from another medical condition, such as diabetes or neuropathy.

Improve Your Foot Systems with Vein Treatment

With the foot-related symptoms listed above that are worse in the evening, it is pointing toward the presence of a vein condition. The only way to know for sure is to have a specialized vein ultrasound looking for the presence of vein reflux. Once a vein ultrasound confirms the presence of vein reflux, you will be able to move forward with vein treatment to help your vein circulation return to normal, thereby reducing or eliminating your symptoms.

The good news is that almost all of our patients, with symptoms related to a vein condition, see an immediate improvement in their foot symptoms, often after the very first treatment. The first step is to schedule a free vein screening which involves our staff reviewing your symptoms and, more importantly, the pattern of your symptoms to see if you would benefit from treatment.
