What is a Vein Condition? [VIDEO]

Have you ever wondered where a vein condition comes from and what is it exactly? If so, you’re not alone. There is more and more awareness about vein problems and how they affect people’s lives.

In this video, I explain what a vein condition is and discuss the symptoms. People tend to think that the most common symptom is spider veins or varicose veins. And while those symptoms can and do appear, most of the people I treat have very normal-looking veins. In fact, less than 20% of my patients have visible signs. Most suffer from unexplained fatigue, inflammation, and lower leg pain. Another common pattern that I listen for with patients is the time of day when their symptoms worsen. With a vein condition, evenings are always the hardest. As stagnant blood pools in the lower legs throughout the day, a person with a vein condition comes home exhausted and only wants to find a recliner and elevate their legs.

Vein treatment is tailored to each individual, depending on what the vein ultrasound reveals. Treatments are simple and easy and are covered by most insurance companies. There is almost zero downtime, as you’ll be able to return to work right away and engage in your normal activities.

The main reaction I see from my patients after only a few treatments are, “Why didn’t I do this sooner!” It’s gratifying for me to see patients feel better, sleep better, and be able to have the energy to play with children or grandchildren, walk, and work without pain. Many are so inspired that they go on to start exercising and eating healthy. Others tell me they will now wear shorts and dresses for the first time, no longer feeling the need to hide their legs.
