What are the Patterns of RLS? [VIDEO]
Did you know that there are many patterns associated with restless leg syndrome (RLS)? There can be different variations and overlaps between these patterns. Read on to learn more about what these RLS patterns are.
RLS Patterns
Patterns are simply classic symptoms that are consistently occurring with individuals who have Restless Leg Syndrome. The presence of patterns is a clear indicator that a specific condition is present. RLS can take place in different patterns. Here are a few of the most common examples:
- Restless legs on a car ride: I hear this from patients all the time, they're driving and their legs just go crazy. This occurs only when they're sitting down resting.
- Restless legs while watching TV or in bed: This is probably the most common pattern of RLS. Their legs start getting this irresistible sensation of moving or buzzing.
- Restless legs while sleeping: Because the person with RLS is asleep, they aren't aware of any problem. However, their sleep partner is aware due to their partners' legs moving around.
More Information On RLS
We routinely see patients who have suffered from RLS for years, with no known method of treatment. Of the patients we see where an underlying vein condition is the cause of their RLS, 80% of them experience either significant or complete relief of their RLS symptoms. Most are shocked and amazed that they can finally have relief after years of suffering.
