COVID-19 and Your Visit to Missouri Vein Care
A message to our community:
I am writing to share an update as the Coronavirius (COVID-19) continues to impact the world, we want to ensure that keeping our patients and employees safe is our number one priority.
As a surgeon I understand more than anyone the importance of infection control. With that in mind, the measures we’ve taken for minimizing risk of coronavirus transmission at Missouri Vein Care follow the current guidelines from the CDC.
- Social distancing: patients will be separated from each other by 6 feet to reduce risk of transmission.
- Waiting room signs will direct patients to wait in distant corners or be directed to rooms.
- Patients will be examined for presence of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Patients exhibiting these symptoms will be turned away from elective treatments until this is resolved for at least 14 days from the last symptom.
- Only the patient, a driver (if needed) or personal support or translator accompany the patient to their Missouri Vein Care Clinic.
- Patients who have traveled in the past 14 days to the following areas will be asked to wait until they have been symptom free at least 14 days:
- Santa Clara County CA
- Seattle, WA
- China
- Iran
- South Korea
- Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City
- United Kingdom and Ireland: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland
- Our staff will refrain from shaking hands. Fist bump is acceptable.
- Any staff with cough, fever or shortness of breath will not be allowed to come to clinic and will seek appropriate evaluation and medical testing.
- All staff will utilize hand sanitizer with an alcohol content >70% per CDC guidelines.
- Our procedure rooms and exam rooms will be sprayed down and wiped clean with sanitizer after each patient visit.
- For each patient coming into our clinic, we will fill in a Coronavirus screen sheet for the physician to review and keep in patient records. Information from this screening will include:
-
-
- Have you had a cough, fever or shortness of breath in the past 14 days? (Yes/No)
- Have you traveled abroad or to Seattle WA or Santa Clara County CA in the past 14 days? (Yes/No) If yes, cross reference to the above list and delay treatment until 14 days.
- A paper copy will be available for each patient during clinic for review
-
We will continue to follow the guidance of the WHO, CDC, and local governments. If you are feeling ill, please stay home for your own protection. Even if you don’t have the coronavirus, but just have a respiratory illness you can become compromised. Patient safety is paramount and we hope to continue to regularly provide treatments.
