Common Causes of Leg Cramps [VIDEO]

Common-Causes-of-Leg-Cramps

Dealing with leg cramps can be irritating, tiring, and downright painful. It is only normal, then, to wonder, “What is causing this?”. If you’re suffering from these sudden, sharp muscle pains on a regular basis, it could very well be due to a vein condition. In fact, cramping is easily one of the most common symptoms I see in vein patients in my clinic. This being said, one can suffer from cramps due to a variety of different reasons other than a vein condition.

Before reaching out to a vein specialist, consider first scheduling an appointment with your general medical practitioner. From there, they will be able to identify unknown conditions, as well as discuss any pre-existing conditions that could be contributing to your cramps such as:

  • Thyroid Conditions
  • Kidney Conditions
  • Magnesium and/or Potassium Abnormalities
  • Back or Neck Pain
  • Chronic Poor Quality Sleep
  • Dehydration after Exercise

While the above can be common causes leading to cramps, the most common causes are, in fact, vein conditions. More specifically, there is a very clear correlation between vein abnormalities (or vein reflux) and leg cramps.

Leg Cramps

How can you know if a vein condition is behind your leg cramping?

Ask yourself this simple question:

Are your leg cramps more common in the night or evening?

If the answer is yes, it is most likely due to a vein condition.

The good news is that vein treatments will significantly improve or eliminate the cramps.

In this video, I discuss some common causes of leg cramps to help you understand what could be happening...

And if you find yourself rudely awakened at night with a painful leg cramp, you’re not alone. People that suffer from leg cramps at night usually suffer from a vein condition, which is relieved with treatment - often the night of the first treatment. If you’re frustrated because nothing is working, the only way to detect the presence of a vein condition causing your cramps is to schedule a vein reflux ultrasound.

If any of the above sounds like something similar to what you have been facing, don’t hesitate to take action and schedule your free vein screening.
