Can I Schedule a Video Vein Screening?
Times are changing...and in our goal of offering you the best health care possible, we are embracing technology in new ways. In the last month, we’ve heard from many people asking us about the ability to do a vein screening virtually. I’m proud to say “YES!” - we now offer that option. Scheduling your video vein screening can now be done in the safety and comfort of your own home...and the process is easier than you may think. Here’s how it works.
How do I schedule my video vein screening?
You’ll simply go to our website at www.missouriveincare.com and find the link on the main menubar “FREE VEIN SCREENING.” Simply click on that link to take you to the page with options for scheduling your vein screening.
Option 1: Video Vein Screening
Here, you’ll be invited to use the chat box on the bottom right of the screen to talk with one of our clinicians. They will help you schedule a time for a video vein screening. This initial video chat will last about 20 minutes while they ask you a series of questions that help us determine whether your leg condition requires the next step.
Option 2: Online Self Assessment
It’s likely you’ll want to do a self-assessment to determine whether or not the signs of a vein condition may be present on your legs and ankles. Simply click on the blue bar “CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE SELF-ASSESSMENT” to open the survey. You can even upload a few photos of your legs and ankles that you’d like our clinical staff to view. Submit the form and someone will follow up with you shortly.
What Do I Look For?
To guide you in knowing what to look for on your own ankles and legs, there is a photo gallery on the bottom of this page with images of various vein conditions in different stages of advancement. When you see one that looks similar to what you see on your ankles and legs, click on that image to enlarge it, and then click again for more information.
What Happens Next?
Once a preliminary diagnosis is made in the initial video screening, we’ll help you set a time for a more comprehensive ultrasound in the office. Since this ultrasound is an actual diagnosis to determine the extent of your vein condition, there is a charge for this particular session, but NOT for the initial video vein screening. If the ultrasound is needed, our team will help you navigate your insurance requirements and guide you in setting up a treatment plan if one is needed.
Is the video vein screening still free?
Yes, the video vein screening is 100% free. The purpose of this screening is to determine whether or not a vein condition may be present. If the clinician determines that there is a need for a comprehensive ultrasound, they will help you schedule that appointment. As we stated above, there is a charge for the in-clinic ultrasound if it is required, and we’ll assist you with understanding your insurance so that you know payment details before you come in for your appointment.
What if I just want to ask a few questions?
We have also enabled a chat box on our website for just that purpose! When you visit www.Missouriveincare.com, you’ll see a small circular icon in the bottom right of each page. That’s our chat box. Simply click on it, type in your question, and one of our clinical staff members will reply shortly. We monitor it during office hours, 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, and typically reply in just a few minutes.
You’re welcome to post questions after hours also. We check the inbox first thing in the morning during the week and will get back to you promptly. If your question is posted over the weekend, know that we are alerted that it is there...and on Monday morning, you’ll be first on our list for a response. Know that it’s super helpful for you to include your email address with your question so that we can respond more directly.
What if I don’t have video capability?
No worries! Not everyone does, and that’s okay. When you click on the link “FREE VEIN SCREENING” on our website’s home page, it will take you to the list of options for your vein screening. Simply choose Option 2 - the online self-assessment or Option 3 - an in-clinic appointment. Or go straight to the chat box and let us know that you’d like a vein screening. Lots of options mean easy solutions for everyone!
Can I still come into the clinic?
Absolutely! In-clinic appointments are always welcome. Simply choose Option 3 where you’ll see a blue tab “Schedule an In-Clinic Vein Screening Appointment.” Complete that form and submit it to us. We’ll be in touch right away to schedule your appointment.
For in-person appointments, know that as precautionary measures for COVID-19, we’ll ask you to check in by phone once you arrive and to wait in your car until your appointment time. Once we are ready, we’ll step outside and call you in, escorting you directly to your appointment room that has been sanitized thoroughly in preparation for your visit. For anyone entering the clinic, we’ll also screen you for signs and symptoms of coronavirus, and may opt to reschedule your appointment if it’s determined that there is a risk.
We’ll never sacrifice standards of care or cleanliness, as your health and well-being - and that of our staff - are our top priority. At the same time, no one should ever have to suffer from a vein condition needlessly. The online video screening and chat functions provide you with a safe and effective way to take the steps forward toward a healthier and happier life. Don’t hesitate to contact us...or chat...if you have any questions or concerns.
