Continuing on with our ‘Fear Of’ series, Dr. Ryan discusses the fear of becoming handicapped. When we think about this specific fear, it’s important to know that it typically is a blend of other fears. Additionally, it’s a pretty common fear that we hear about often.
One thing that you should know is that it’s extremely rare for a vein condition to lead to any serious handicap, but the fear itself is a common one for vein patients - a fear of losing your autonomy or independence. Or, you might not want your body’s appearance to change or be viewed as different.
